The
only direct public transport between London's Heathrow and Stansted
airports are the National Express coaches which shuttle between
the two airports. Note - there is no direct train service.
The motorway between Heathrow and Stansted suffers from severe congestion.
There are routine delays at peak hours during the working week.
We would recommend you allow a minimum of 4 hours between landing
at one airport and checking in at the other. A gentle reminder that
the low cost airlines at Stansted are not very forgiving if you
are late for check in.

At Heathrow the buses do not visit each terminal.
Terminals 1,2,3
For terminals 1,2 and 3 you make your way to the Central Bus Station.
This isn't as bad as it sounds. There are luggage trolley friendly
ramps in all the terminals at Heathrow that descend to underground
moving
walkways similar to that found airside in the terminals.
Allow about 10 minutes for the journey between terminals and central
bus station. |

Terminal
5
Coaches stop at Terminal 5. However the bus may stop a long while
at the Heathrow Central Bus Station between Terminal 5 and Luton Airport.
Terminal 4
For Terminal 4 get off the bus at the Central Bus Station. The transfer
between Central and Terminal 4 is by Heathrow Connect train. This
runs a shuttle service every 15 minutes and is free.
The stations at Central and Terminal 4 are deep underground, there
are lifts.
Stansted
Airport
At Stansted Airport the buses stop in the bus station immediately
in front of the single passenger terminal. |

no apparatus to weigh the cases and at the end of the day its at the
discretion of the driver what goes on the bus.

bicycle is properly packaged 'airline style' and there is sufficient
capacity in the hold.
